P/S. I barely took pictures on the first day - waking up at 5AM will wear anyone down, I'm sure.
view from the bus. dad managed to score us some top-decked seats so the little bro and i treated ourselves to front row
view from our hotel room
we stayed at first world hotel but our room was kind of small (albeit more spacious than the one we had a few years back) and odd shaped. and so begins a time for resting and nomming on potato buns.
the aforementioned potato bun. i was greatly disappointed - i thought there was gonna be an actual potato in my bun wtf -_-
reading some magazine from my hotel room and spotted the lovely scha al-yahya
after lazing around i complained about how hungry i am so dad brought us to coffee terrace at maxims genting for a buffet! we've never been here before in spite of us heading to genting every year so i was pretty damned excited. plus - i'm now a big eater, wtf. i'm sure my body will tell you the same.
bakery across from coffee terrace. didn't manage to try this :(
coffee terrace had a variety of various foods to try ranging from local malaysian food to japanese to indian to desserts! om nom nom. and sorry the pictures kinda look very orange-y!! couldn't fix the lighting so i just edited these the best i could :(
top: spaghetti and chicken chop from the western section
bottom: rice with some very yummy mutton (i think). spicy and good, my favourite of the lot! from the indian section.
top: takoyaki, some squid ball thing, tempura and sushi all from the japanese section.
bottom: my sad attempt at eating healthy. my salad was a fail.
top: mum's kuey tiao with cockles
bottom: little bro's curry laksa (not impressed i must say)
dessert was SO GOOD!
top: macarons, some lemon dessert (i didn't really like this mostly because i don't fancy lemon anything) and strawberry cake
bottom: vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles (which i relegated to my little sister who happily poked her finger in it... and got myself a new one)
went sight-seeing and all that tourist-y fun after eating. here's the view of highlands hotel from maxims genting :) and yes, t'was bloody cold that day.
i am the only idiot who would look up the temperature on google, blatantly believe that it was 30 degrees and wear tights and a skirt to genting highlands. >:( google 1 - me 0
day two coming soon! bye!
