The boyfriend and i expended on date locations today! (i know, even i am surprised wtf) And as it turns out, today happens to be one of the most memorable and interesting day ever!!!
Headed out to Vivo to catch the 5pm show of Perks of Being a Wallflower but we ended up watching the 7pm show so....... we had 4 hours to burn.
So we started out with lunch (because i was being very whiny.... but i digress) at secret recipe
hello
boyfriend too engrossed with his damn phone fml... which resulted in us setting a no-phones at the table rule
lunch was so good! black pepper chicken and iced latte!
... which got devoured very fast
Then as i waited for the boyfriend to finish smoking... this happened.
Which then resulted to the boyfriend suggesting we head to Sentosa.
And then.
I got too snap happy.
Are you sick of my attempt at artistic photography? Yeah, too bad.
took the travelator to sentosa (which was very tiring if you ask me)
and we're here!!!
I was being very tourist-y and child-like because i was so excited since i haven't been here in a bloody long time! Sentosa has evolved since i last went here a few years back! Everything is damn interesting now.
(but maybe also because i had the right company this time)
went through some caves....
and discovered this!
super cooling and super shiok. hung around for the air and the quiet atmostphere... until lots of people came here too and it wasn't that great anymore :(
pretty much walked around aimlessly mostly because we didn't really know what was there and we couldn't go to the underwater world cos we had a movie later. but walking around aimlessly turned out to be a good thing because we saw some maritime experiential museum.
typhoon theatre caught our eye! but since the admissions were pretty inexpensive, the boyfriend got us tickets to both the museum and the typhoon theatre (which we bought later cos it was undergoing some maintenance initially)
headed to the museum first since the typhoon theatre was down. sadly, i didn't really pay attention to that much of the information but just the smaller ones about the artifacts. the museum is pretty much the history about asia, the stuff that went through the sea and.... stuff. it was pretty interesting!
ok, i cheated and googled la but it says it's about reliving famous battles between asia's pirates and pirate hunters........... #ok. i will leave you to draw your own conclusions from the pictures.
CUTE OR NOT THE GIRAFFE
Headed to the typhoon theatre after this and it was such a great experience! It starts with some story about a family going out into the sea and then..... there's a typhoon. HAHA, very anti-climatic. But anyway, when you enter, you're made to watch it first. Then they lead you into a theatre where you go on a trip with them.
the theatre was very reminiscent of the omni-theatre at science centre. EXCEPT BETTER. it was pretty realistic, the lights went nuts like there was actual lightning, when it rained there was actually water and IT WAS ALL BLOODY AWESOME. although the lightning freaked me out a bit :( not cool!!! the boyfriend and i had a lot of fun at this point in time because we were sprayed with water wtf -_-
after that, the whole "ship" went down because you were sinking into the underwater world (literally). the boyfriend started yawning at this part wtf. and..... i made some joke about being at underwater world just cos we couldn't go yet, lol.
it was a great experience! one of the highlights of my day :)
ladies and gents: highlight of my day
there were so many cute soft toys at the gift store! initially when we stood next to this rack, i was just saying "b, will you buy me a panda" 928343920 times and he ignored me so i said "ok, can't say i didn't try". so when we walked around i really didn't expect to buy any until......
......... he told me to pick one.
HIGHLIGHT OF MY DAY.
i don't know how to explain why it's the highlight of my day, but the important thing is that he does and that in some strange way (strange cos it's a stuffed panda, lol) it resonated with me as an act of love. :)
we walked around for a bit after that and walked around vivo for a bit till it was time for the movie. the perks of being a wallflower is one of my favourite books ever and so i was pretty excited to see it - and i was not disappointed! i guess it helped that stephen chbosky worked on the film too so the essence of the book was not lost.
perks has always resonated with me and today, i felt the same feelings i did a few years ago when i read the book. perks is one of those books/movies that just stay with you and in some ways you find a common understanding with charlie. charlie's story is similar to mine which perhaps is one of the reasons i understood him so much.
everyone who hasn't read the book or watched the movie, please do.
today was such a great day. can't wait for our picnic and upcoming trip to the zoo! in the meantime, i need to rush off and work on some assignments for uni.
blog soon, bye!
